Educational Timetabling
EventMAP Limited have developed optimeExam for the purpose of examination timetabling and optimeEvent to aid with course timetabling within an institution.
Scheduling of exams, events or classes can be fully or semi-automatic, depending on user requirements. Both products utilise the Optime Scheduling Engine™, one of the most powerful auto-schedulers in the world, utilising cutting-edge research-driven algorithms which allow practical and optimised automated solutions to be created very quickly.
Both products are executive information systems meaning they are primarily used for modeling the respective timetabling areas in terms of number of periods, length and type of events/sessions, use of rooms and resources, flexibility for students and staff, flexibility in curriculum provision etc.
In addition to modeling, each product allows for data setup, linkages to external databases and central control of the respective timetabling scenario. As examination timetabling within an institution is usually coordinated centrally, optimeExam can be used effectively to manage the entire process.
Course timetabling on the other hand can be centralised, decentralised or indeed a combination of both approaches. This is known as the Timetabling Implementation Strategy. See the section on Solutions to describe how optimeEvent can be part of a solution to manage the entire process.
Please contact us for a free evaluation copy of either optimeExam or optimeEvent. If you provide us with a little information regarding your needs, a customised model can be built for your evaluation.
